Kirsten Redmond is a local native to the beautiful landscapes of Western North Carolina, where she has developed a deep-rooted connection to the region’s culture and architectural heritage. Her passion for design and caring for others has been evident throughout her journey, starting with her background in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant. However, it was through the world of interior design that she discovered a way to continue serving others while pursuing her creative calling.
Education has played a pivotal role in shaping Kirsten’s career. She holds a B.S. in Interior Design with a Minor in Art from Western Carolina University, which provided her with a solid foundation in design principles and artistic expression. Additionally, she earned an Associate in Arts Degree from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, further enhancing her knowledge and skills.
Inspiration fuels Kirsten’s creativity and drives her dedication to deliver exceptional design solutions. Traveling has been a significant source of inspiration for her, and she had the opportunity to explore European architecture during a college trip, studying design elements and material choices that she now seamlessly incorporates into her work back home in Western North Carolina.
Drawing inspiration from diverse sources, Kirsten finds value in past design trends and styles, discovering unique pieces through antiques, and uncovering the hidden charm of old buildings that have been thoughtfully renovated. She also looks up to other designers in the industry, learning from their work and innovative approaches.
Growing up in a family immersed in the construction world, Kirsten’s experiences were enriched by her father’s involvement in building projects. She worked alongside family friends who were builders, gaining hands-on experience on job sites and developing a keen understanding of the construction process. This background gives her a unique advantage in coordinating with builders and architects to seamlessly integrate design with new construction projects.
Kirsten’s diverse skill set encompasses various aspects of interior design, including space planning to optimize functionality and aesthetics, guiding clients through the selection process to achieve their vision, and efficiently managing projects from start to finish. Her keen eye for furniture selections ensures that each piece complements the overall design theme, creating spaces that are both stunning and functional.
An artist at heart, Kirsten’s expertise in drawings and renderings allows her to vividly communicate design concepts to clients, ensuring they can visualize the end result before the transformation begins. Her commitment to client satisfaction and personalized service shines through every step of the design process, making her an invaluable asset to the ID.ology team and a trusted partner for clients looking to bring their dream spaces to life.
