Each month, we engage in volunteer projects, donate essentials, and participate in impactful events that uplift those in need. Whether it’s assisting families with home improvements, providing meals, or contributing to local nonprofits, we strive to create a culture of generosity and compassion. Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth and Families
Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth & Families is a private nonprofit organization under the 501(c)3 designation. It is independent of state ownership, management, or governance, except as mandated by licensing and other legal requirements.
Children are placed in its care by the court system and Department of Social Services when their homes are deemed unsafe or unhealthy. Black Mountain Home offers support to children from birth through college age and beyond, with many having faced abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Some children may stay for only a short period, while others may spend much of their childhood in its care.
In 2019, the organization provided services to over 150 children from Western North Carolina.
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries has faithfully served the community since March of 1981. For over thirty-five years, it has witnessed significant transformations in the lives of the men and women it serves.
Many individuals come to the ministry seeking food and shelter, while others participate in the one-year residential recovery program designed to help them break free from the chains of addiction. This program provides not only a reprieve from immediate hardships but also a pathway towards long-term recovery and hope, supporting participants in building healthier and more fulfilling futures.
Through these efforts, Western Carolina Rescue Ministries continues to impact the community positively, illustrating the power of compassionate service in transforming lives.
Bounty & Soul
Bounty & Soul in Black Mountain is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering connections between individuals through access to nutritious food, educational resources, and community engagement.
The organization places a strong emphasis on honoring each person by creating an atmosphere of care, inclusion, and mutual learning. Bounty & Soul values and supports everyone it serves, reinforcing the principles of compassion and respect. By encouraging meaningful interactions among community members, the organization helps build a network of support that empowers individuals and strengthens community bonds.
