OUR PROCESS

Full-Service Interior Design for Your Custom Home

From the floor plans to the final furnishings, our team helps bring all the decisions involved in building a custom home together through one thoughtful design process.

1. Discovery + Planning

We start by understanding how you want to live in your home, along with your must-haves, budget, timeline, and property considerations. Your lifestyle and everyday routines shape the space planning and floor plans so the home feels natural to move through.
Drawings, elevations, modeling, and 3D visualization are then created to help you picture your home before construction begins.

2. Design + Selections

Once the plan is complete, we get to work developing the interiors room by room. Kitchens, bathrooms, custom cabinetry, closets, lighting, flooring, tile, countertops, plumbing fixtures, hardware, colors, and finishes are considered together so the home feels complete from one space to the next.

3. Construction + Completion

We collaborate with your builder to answer design questions, clarify details, and help them to carry the design through construction.
When furnishings are part of the project, we add that final layer that makes the house feel like home, selecting furniture, lighting, rugs, textiles, art, and accessories that fit the space and complement the overall design.

Biophilic design is the connection between your home and the natural world around it. In a custom home, that relationship influences the design from the earliest stages, when window placement, orientation to views and morning light, and natural materials such as stone and wood are built into the plan.

New homes are more energy efficient than ever, which also means they are built tighter. With less natural air exchange, the paints, stains, cabinetry, adhesives, finishes, and furnishings used inside the home have a greater impact on indoor air quality. We help clients understand those choices and, where appropriate, prioritize natural, low-VOC, low-toxicity, and responsibly sourced materials.

A custom home can be designed not only for how you live today, but for the years ahead. Using Certified Aging-in-Place principles, we consider accessibility, storage, lighting, transitions, bathroom and kitchen layouts, along with other details that can make your home easier and more comfortable to navigate as your needs change.
