Black Mountain Home

We are pleased to report that all staff and youth at Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth, and Families are safe, extending their gratitude for ongoing support and prayers. Like much of the Black Mountain region, their campus has been heavily affected.

If you are looking for ways to give aid, they have set up a disaster relief fund here.

There is an urgent need for large potable water storage units, they are in need of gas to run generators, non-perishable food items, and paper products. To manage logistics effectively and ensure the security of the children, please send a private message through their Facebook Page including your name, any group affiliation, phone number, and email. Arrangements for drop-offs will be scheduled through this communication, and they kindly ask that visits to their campus be prearranged and approved.

Western Carolina Rescue Ministries

As of their latest update on September 30th, the Mission has power but is without water. Despite this, they continue providing for both residents and the homeless community. Water is desperately needed for cooking, sanitation, and caring for infants needing formula. If you can assist, please deliver gallons of water to 225 Patton Ave in downtown. They are also utilizing boiled water to make the best use of all contributions.

For those who are not able to donate water directly but wish to assist, Western Carolina Rescue Ministries is accepting financial donations. You can contribute here. Your support will help them continue their crucial work during this challenging time.

Bounty & Soul

In partnership with World Central Kitchen, Bounty & Soul has mobilized to distribute food and hot meals in the Black Mountain and Swannanoa Valley areas in response to Hurricane Helene.

To support these critical efforts, Bounty & Soul has established a Disaster Relief Fund dedicated to their food distribution initiatives. Although we don’t have current updates on their facilities, they continue to keep the community informed about food resources through their social media channels.

We encourage everyone to follow Bounty & Soul’s updates and consider contributing to their essential work during this challenging time.
