ID.ology Interiors & Design Featured in House Beautiful’s 2024 Whole Home
We are thrilled to announce that ID.ology Interiors & Design has been featured in the prestigious House Beautiful magazine’s November/December 2024 issue, showcasing their annual Whole Home project. This year’s edition is particularly special, as it not only highlights exceptional design but also tells a story of resilience and community spirit.

About House Beautiful and the 2024 Whole Home Project
House Beautiful, a cornerstone in the world of interior design publications, has been running its Whole Home feature for seven years. Each year, they select a location to showcase outstanding design and tell a compelling story. For 2024, they chose the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, specifically the area between Asheville and Hendersonville.
The 4,000-square-foot mountain contemporary home, built in partnership with Sean Sullivan of Living Stone Design + Build (2023 National Custom Home Builder of the Year) and our very own Laura Sullivan of ID.ology Interiors & Design, along with 11 other design teams, was meant to celebrate the joys of owning a vacation home and creating space for downtime.
A Story of Resilience
What makes this feature particularly poignant is the unexpected turn of events. As the House Beautiful team was wrapping up their visit, Hurricane Helene descended upon western North Carolina, causing significant damage to the area. While the featured home, situated atop a windy hill, remained standing, many in the surrounding region were not as fortunate. This year’s feature has taken on a new purpose: to inspire readers not just with great design ideas, but also to support the rebuilding efforts of this magnificent area. ID.ology’s Contributions to the Whole Home
Our team at ID.ology had the honor of designing the En Suite Spaces for this year’s Whole Home. We focused on creating spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional – a philosophy that we believe is essential in any well-designed home.
Primary Bathroom
The primary bathroom is a testament to luxury and functionality. We centered a large soaking tub beneath a skylight, creating a serene bathing experience. The space also includes a generously sized shower, and we incorporated arched mirrors that double as medicine cabinets with hidden electrical outlets – perfect for charging accessories.

Guest Bathroom
This guest room en suite features custom cabinetry that is as chock-full of accessible storage as it is stylish. A glazed ceramic tile from Nemo Tile + Stone creates a sense of depth in this smaller space and sets off the charcoal-colored Silestone countertop.

Laundry Room
Our laundry room design proves that utilitarian spaces can be both beautiful and highly functional. Serving as both a laundry room and mudroom, this space includes a bench sized for muddy boots, an apron-front sink, and ample countertop space for folding clothes. We even included a rod for hanging shirts to prevent wrinkles – a small detail that makes a big difference in daily life.

Closets
The closet designs showcase our attention to detail in storage solutions. In the primary closet, we incorporated shallow storage, drawers, and cabinets to keep everything organized. Dimmable lighting adds a boutique feel to the space. For the walk-in closet, we adopted a vacation-minded perspective, offering plenty of hanging space for quick unpacking and repacking, along with a hidden cubby for laundry.

More Than Scenery
Being part of House Beautiful’s 2024 Whole Home project has been an incredible experience for the ID.ology team. It allowed us to showcase our design philosophy of blending beauty with functionality in some of the home’s most essential spaces. We’re proud to have contributed to a project that not only inspires with great design but also shines a light on the resilience of the western North Carolina community.
We invite you to pick up the November/December 2024 issue of House Beautiful, to see more of our work and the stunning designs from all the talented teams involved in this project. And when the time is right, we encourage you to visit this beautiful region of North Carolina – we promise, you’ll fall in love with more than just the scenery.
